The teachers’ day celebration took place in the school auditorium on the 5th of October, 2018. Two students Onah Pascal and Chinedu Obinugwu anchored the event. The opening prayer was said by a JSS1 student named Adrian Itegboje. The Administrator Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Babalola gave the opening remarks. He appreciated the teachers and acknowledged their work in the lives of the boys. This was followed by an outstanding performance by the school’s orchestra. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and joy and everyone danced gracefully. An old teacher of the College Mrs. Mbah was celebrated by her students; the class of ’81. On behalf of the set, a cheque of N 250,000 was presented to Mrs. Mbah in appreciation for imparting in their lives while they were still in secondary school. A poem on the importance of teachers in the society was recited by some students.
Also, a play on life in the college was acted by some students. This made everyone laugh uncontrollably. This was followed by the presentation of gifts to the Academic Staff by the Asst. Administrator Rev. Fr. Simeon Mautin In conclusion, the vote of thanks was given by the Chairman, Welfare Committee; Mr Olaleke and the closing prayer was taken by the Asst. Senior Prefect Achikeh Steve. At the end of the day, the teachers were seen beaming with smiles and pride. Indeed teaching is a very noble profession that shapes the character, caliber and future of an individual.
