Zack Gilbert is a player that Pitt football fans have a lot of interest in. Will the son of former Pitt great Sean Gilbert follow his dad and play for the Panthers?
That question will be answered in the very near future.
Pittsburgh Sports Now talked to Zack Gilbert tonight and he gave us some new information.
“I’m now down to two teams, Virginia Tech and Pitt and I’m coming to Pitt on the 21st”, said Gilbert.
Previously, the 3-star defensive end had Pitt, Virginia Tech and West Virginia in his final 3. WVU is out and his choice is down to the Panthers or the Hokies.
Gilbert (6-0, 241) also told me that he expects to make his decision shortly after his trip to Pittsburgh.
Gilbert is one of four defensive ends that are seriously considering Pitt: Gilbert, Andrew Mintze, Desmond Chapple and Patrick Jones. Because of his father, I’d imagine that Gilbert is a player that will have a scholarship to Pitt for as long as he wants.
In the end, I’m fully expecting Gilbert to select Pitt. Looks like we’ll be finding out shortly.
