This basketball season, former Pitt players will be scattered around the country as the Panthers, over the last few years, have had several players transfer out.
Let’s take a look at how the transfers are doing at their new programs so far this season.
Nate Santos – Dayton
Santos played 33 minutes for the Flyers in their season opener. He went 2 for 2 from the field and 2 for 4 from the free-throw line en route to scoring six points. He also racked up an impressive 14 rebounds.
Dior Johnson – Clarendon College
Johnson is playing at the JUCO level for Clarendon College currently. While his statistics are not listed online, he reportedly scored 34 points in a JUCO Jamboree setting weeks ago.Â
John Hugley – Oklahoma
Hugley came off the bench in Oklahoma’s season-opening win, playing 18 minutes, going 3 for 4 from the field, and scoring ten points. The 6-foot-10, 275-pound big man grabbed five rebounds as well.
Ithiel Horton – Texas
Horton is now playing for his fourth school after starting at Delaware, transferring to Pitt, playing for UCF, and now heading to Texas. In Texas’ season-opening win over Incarnate Word, Horton played 26 minutes, starting for the Longhorns and scoring 17 points. He went 3 for 7 from three-point range and grabbed five rebounds.
Chris Payton – Kent State
Payton played 21 minutes, shooting 3 for 7 from the field. He scored seven points, grabbed six rebounds, and dished out three assists in a win over Malone.
Max Amadasun – Augusta (D2)
Augusta has not opened its regular season yet. However, prior to the season, Amadasun’s squad went into Division One Georgia Southern and came out with a win in an exhibition game. Amadasun posted 11 points and six rebounds in the victory.
Femi Odukale – New Mexico State
Odukale is still awaiting a waiver for immediate eligibility. Following his Pitt career, he transferred to Seton Hall, and now to New Mexico State.
Noah Collier – William & Mary
Collier did not play in William & Mary’s season opener.
