Panther Fans,
World renown virologist Jonas Salk joined the University of Pittsburgh in 1947. He was recruited to develop a cutting-edge virus program. Salk and his colleagues worked diligently for seven years to develop an effective ‘killed-virus’ vaccine. The efforts of Pitt’s research team culminated in the largest national controlled field trail in history. Salk’s polio vaccine was ultimately approved for general use by the federal government on April 12, 1955. Salk became a national hero and Pitt changed the world.
Pitt is reaching out to Panther Nation once again and looking to raise funds for its amazing Center for Vaccine Research (@PittCVR). The shirt I’m wearing will soon be on sale and $10 from each shirt will he donated to Center of Vaccine Research. The remainder of the price of the shirt covers all other expenses (production, printing, etc).
The coronavirus (COVID 19) has ravaged the United States. There’s no better time to support vaccine research. I strongly encourage all of you to purchase the shirts for yourself, friends and family. I’ll be proudly wearing mine, I hope to see you wearing yours. H2P!
