Pat Narduzzi and his staff have their eyes on a new group of tight end prospects that they hope to add to their Class of 2021.
Rhett Guidry (Baton Rouge, Louisiana) received an offer from Tim Salem on Sunday night followed by another player from the South.
2021 3-star tight end River Helms (Lester, Alabama) received a call last night letting him know that his latest offer was from Pitt. Helms (6’4″, 220) also holds offers from Georgia Tech, Memphis, Missouri, Tulane, Liberty, UAB, Coastal Carolina, Appalachian State, Central Florida and Western Kentucky along with getting interest from Florida State and Georgia.
Because of the restrictions on traveling, Helms hasn’t been able to make an visits to schools which means Pitt isn’t getting in too late with him. In fact, Helms reportedly doesn’t plan on making a college decision until December and is a candidate to become an early enrollee.
Helms fits the mold of other tight ends that Pitt has offered, which is someone that can line up on the line of scrimmage or split out wide and be used as a threat in the passing game due to his size and speed.
Helms joins the group of Mitchell Evans (Wadsworth, Ohio), Nathan Boerboom (Chesapeake, Virginia) and Rhett Guidry (Baton Rouge, Louisiana) that are actively being recruited by Pitt.
