With just a week away from the December’s National Football Signing Day, another major program is pursuing three-star quarterback Tate Rodemaker.
Two days after receiving an offer from Baylor, the talented quarterback from Valdosta, Georgia has received an offer from Florida State and new head coach Mike Norvell.
Rodemaker is still committed to South Florida, but has now received offers from Pitt, Virginia Tech, Baylor, Northwestern and Florida State. He only has one official visit that he’s allowed to make and as of Tuesday, Rodemaker was still planned on visiting Northwestern this weekend.
The question now is will this offer from Florida State change things with him?
The Seminoles have a sudden opening at quarterback, as four-star Jacksonville, Florida (Sandalwood HS) dual-threat quarterback Jeff Sims de-committed from Florida State on Wednesday, just days after his first meeting with Norvell.
Last weekend, Rodemaker made an official visit to Pitt and was set to decide between them, South Florida and Virginia Tech. However, since that visit, he’s picked up the offers from Baylor and Florida State.
With all this late activity, will Rodemaker decide to push his commitment back until February in order to give himself more time to think things through?
Landing a talented player is never easy which is something the Pitt staff is finding out as they hope to land their top 2020 quarterback target.
Pittsburgh Sports Now has a message into Rodemaker, who’s currently in school, and will update this situation as soon as we get some more information.
Other than Pickett, Patti and Beville are the only QBs currently on the roster? What is the chance that one of them leaves if Rodemaker comes aboard ?
