On the Road: Small School Big Man

Published

on

They say it’s nearly impossible to find a needle in a haystack. But what about a 6-foot-11 power forward, surrounded by little else but hay fields?

That’s not exactly easy either, but that’s exactly what happened when Duquesne and head coach Keith Dambrot plucked 2018 big man Dylan Swingle out of tiny Bainbridge, Ohio.

Swingle, the biggest member of the tallest recruiting class in Dukes history, certainly stands out in a crowd. The classic back-to-the-basket big man has a build that’s more like a tight end than a typical basketball player, and his shortly cropped blonde hair stands head and shoulders above his teammates in high school.
