The spring transfer portal window was open from April 15 until April 30. But the two-week window didn’t exactly slam shut on April 30.
Sam Vander Haar is a good example. He announced he was in the portal on May 1, but since he gave Pitt official written notice of his intent to enter the portal before the window closed, he was allowed to enter and search for a new school immediately.
As it’s now May 5, well over the 48-hour time limit schools have to officially process portal declarations, if a player isn’t in the portal, he cannot actually transfer to a new school until the window re-opens in December. So, we know who is in the portal.
Pitt lost Vander Haar and Myles Alston to the transfer portal since the window opened on April 15, a pretty light load all things considered, but the transfer portal should bring back much more than it lost in Pitt’s case.
